At Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church we work very hard to accommodate families as much as possible, yet there are some things to know and understand so that we can work together in a spirit of patience and understanding to help bereaved families in their time of greatest need. When questions and concerns arise, the priests and staff of Holy Rosary will help to guide you. Our local funeral directors work very closely with our pastoral staff to ensure a sacred and prayerful final journey for your loved one.

Below are readings from Sacred Scripture typically used for funerals. Families should prayerfully choose one Old Testament reading, one Responsorial Psalm, and one New Testament reading for the funeral liturgy of their loved one. Once a decision has been made, inform the family's funeral director who will notify the presiding priest. Our parish staff will assure the selected readings are available at the ambo. In addition to choosing the readings, the family should also choose lectors to proclaim the Word. Regarding Annual CareA Message from the Desk of Fr. Mikel A. Polson, Pastor
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
With prayers to all of you and your loved ones, and in memory for those who have died in the faith, I write to you with sacred care and concern for your annual cemetery dues and appeal.
As we approach the celebrations of All Saints and All Souls Days, we extend the memorials of our loved ones for the entire month. One of the many ways in which we must honor and pray for those who have died is to tend to the material goods of the earth in which your loved one has been interred. It is a sacred duty of the survivors, in conjunction with the parish family, to see to the upkeep of our cemetery. This corporal work of mercy not only keeps those who have died in our loving memories, but also reminds us of the sacredness of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ – the cornerstone of our faith.
This letter serves as a reminder for you that there is an annual fee of $40 per cemetery plot. If you (or your family) are responsible for multiple plots, then each additional plot is $20 each, not to exceed $100 per family or responsible party.
The cemeteries at Holy Rosary and Cossinade are very costly to maintain, and most of the funds for regular maintenance come out of the church’s weekly collections. The lawn upkeep alone costs over $6,000 per month. We are doing our very best to keep our cemetery beautiful and well maintained, because we all share in the pain of loss and the joy of the Resurrection. All ground plots require an annual maintenance fee, and your cooperation is much needed and appreciated.
If you have vaults in one of our mausoleums, these are sold with perpetual care endowments. The interest earned on these endowments serves to maintain the beauty of each mausoleum. Since all of the mausoleums are on cemetery property, I kindly ask for a generous contribution to our cemetery to help in maintaining the sacred beauty of hope for the whole property.
